Lauren Hackett joined the Allen Institute in January 2019 and is responsible for leading operations, integrating strategy and planning efforts across the Institute. Prior to joining the Allen Institute, Hackett was the executive director for administration and chief business officer at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center where she held a critical and integrative leadership role to support the translation of discovery research into clinical practice.She hasover20 years of experience with extensive knowledge and leading teams in research and clinical administration and operations, strategy, planning, budget and finance, human resources, space and facilities to optimize the organizational capabilities of complex, collaborative research institutions. Hackett previously served as executive director for administration at NYU Cancer Institute,held similar roles with the Yale School of Medicine and Yale Cancer Center and was the director of sponsored programs at Rockefeller University.
Hackett has served on numerous cancer center and national advisory boards as well as peer review committees for the National Cancer Institute. She received her BA in Psychology at the University of Massachusetts and her MPA at the University of New Haven.
