Impact Laboratories, a Spokane-based startup verifying the environmental bona fides of approximately 3,800 labs worldwide, announced nearly $5 million in funding to expand its efforts.
The company, a commercial arm of the nonprofit My Green Lab, helps institutions reduce their environmental impact by offering third-party verification for My Green Lab certification and providing software to achieve and maintain sustainability goals. They also promote the use of ACT labels to score the sustainability of lab chemicals, equipment, and supplies. “This investment signals a pivotal shift in how science integrates sustainability,” said James Connelly, CEO of Impact Laboratories and My Green Lab.
With Impact Laboratories scaling globally from Spokane, this funding round underscores the region’s commitment to sustainability and highlights the emerging startup ecosystem in Eastern Washington.
