Benaroya Research Institute Awarded $11M Across Eight Grants in Second Half of 2024 to Predict, Prevent, Reverse, and Cure Immune System Diseases

Benaroya Research Institute announced eight research grants, totaling nearly $11.4M, awarded in the latter half of 2024. These included a $3.6M grant to investigate how a subset of regulatory cells are dysfunctional in controlling autoantibody production in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. Another $3.8M grant will study Type 1 diabetes pathogenesis to guide timing and selection of early therapies. Both are funded by the National Institutes of Health.
