Samsung has acquired Seattle-based digital health startup Xealth for approximately $115 million, marking a significant expansion of the tech giant’s push into digital healthcare.

Founded in 2017 as a spinout from Providence Health & Services, Xealth built software that lets clinicians prescribe and monitor digital health tools directly through electronic medical-record systems. CEO Mike McSherry credited the company’s success to strong relationships with 15 major hospital systems and strategic investors such as Novartis, Philips, and ResMed. He said Samsung’s scale and AI-enabled devices will bring healthcare closer to consumers, noting, “Ultimately, that’s going to be a doctor in your pocket, or a doctor on your wrist or ring.”

The acquisition strengthens Seattle’s position as a leader in digital health innovation, reflecting the region’s growing influence at the intersection of technology and patient care.
