Scott Lesley, the president and chief scientific officer of InduPro, reflects on his decision to leave Merck & Co. to lead the Seattle-based startup and shape its scientific direction and culture.
Lesley states, “For an environment like Seattle, there’s great science here through the (University of Washington). There’s a good biotech community and a growing number of successful biotechs.” He adds, “what Seattle does well is these early-stage companies and really tapping into local talent here. You see continued investment by VC in Seattle because they see the potential here as well.”
Lesley’s decision highlights the thriving biotech community in Seattle, which continues to serve as a key hub for innovation in the life sciences industry.
