Securing federal funding requires more than a strong idea, it demands a clear understanding of agency priorities, reviewer expectations, and an evolving funding landscape. Join Natalie Rudolph and Elizabeth Cross Nichol for a virtual workshop focused on opportunities within the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) at the US Department of Defense and learn practical strategies for competing successfully.
Whether you are new to federal grants through agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, or DoD, have applied with mixed results, or are looking to strengthen an upcoming submission, this session is designed to help you improve your competitiveness.
Participants will learn how to identify relevant CDMRP funding opportunities, align proposals with agency priorities and reviewer criteria, interpret critiques to strengthen resubmissions, and craft persuasive, commercialization-oriented applications positioned for success. With an overall average success rate of approximately 14% across programs and years, CDMRP awards are highly competitive, making strategic positioning, program fit, and proposal quality critical. This training is based on the released pre-announcements and will be modified as necessary in response to evolving administrative changes.
Pre-announcement topics are currently available. Full details can be found at https://cdmrp.health.mil/. This session will not be recorded.
Who Should Participate:
Innovators, researchers, and life science companies interested in understanding CDMRP opportunities and strengthening their competitiveness for these awards. Companies with a strong research foundation and clearly defined scientific aims are particularly well aligned with CDMRP funding priorities.
