Fred Hutch Hematologist Receives $3.5M NIH Grant to Advance GVHD Prevention

Fred Hutch hematologist Marco Mielcarek has received a five-year, $3.5M NIH U01 collaborative research grant to complete a clinical trial and laboratory research aimed at determining the optimal dosage of a drug used to prevent graft-vs.-host-disease (GVHD), a common complication of donor stem cell transplants for blood cancers.
