Seattle was recently named the top U.S. city for LGBTQ+ employees, beating out Chicago, Washington D.C., San Francisco and New York to take the number one spot.
72% of job ads in Seattle were inclusive to the LGBTQ+ community, meaning they actively promoted diversity in the workplace regardless of sexual orientation. Seattle also ranked 3rd internationally for LGBTQ+ job ad inclusivity, behind German cities Cologne and Berlin.
To determine these rankings, global search engine company Adzuna analyzed nearly 9.7 million job vacancies across 10 different countries to look at inclusivity, as well as job ads specifically emphasizing that job seekers of all sexual orientations were encouraged to apply.
