Washington state’s Department of Commerce has awarded $500,000 grants to four organizations forming new innovation clusters in Washington as part of the “Innovation Cluster Accelerator” program. They join five others selected earlier this year to grow key industry sectors in Washington state, with each receiving strategic guidance and support to build and run an innovation cluster in a target industry in addition to the funds.
One of the four organizations receiving funding is Evergreen Bioscience Innovation, led by Greater Spokane, Inc. The organization is working to make the state a magnet for companies providing and consuming expert life and health science contract research, development, and manufacturing services by enhancing workforce development and services to pharmaceutical and medical devices companies.
