He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington and is a licensed professional engineer.

Nitin Baliga, PhD

Nitin Baliga develops predictive models of biological networks that catalyze strategies for personalized medicine, infectious diseases treatment, and a sustainable environment. Dr. Baliga has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles in top international journals including Cell, Science and Nature, grossing more than 50,000 citations. In addition to being a Google SciFoo alumnus, Dr. Baliga’s work has been widely profiled in magazines and journals including The Scientist, Genome Web, Wired Magazine, Genetic Engineering News, ArsTechnica, Xconomy, and Nature Methods. He has several patents on diagnostics, prognostics and drug discovery for cancers and tuberculosis, as well as biotechnology solutions for environmental sustainability. He has served in editorial roles on several international journals including BMC Systems Biology, BMC Bioinformatics, Environmental Microbiology, Nature Scientific Data, and Royal Society Open Science. Dr. Baliga has served on the board of Climate Solutions, and has advisory roles on SABs of BlueNalu, Syapse and Hitachi High Tech.

Tobin Taylor-Bhatia has dedicated over 17 years to Philips, where she is the Head of Delivery & Adoption, Innovation & Strategy. Her previous roles at Philips include Head of Innovation for Image Guided Therapy, Head of Customer Services for Ultrasound, Ultrasound Chief of Staff, Director of Business Transformation, Director of Growth Products R&D, and Senior Manager of Development Engineering. Tobin holds a BS in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Texas.

Joe Victor currently serves as RareCyte President & CEO and has been a Venture Partner/Venture Advisor with 5AM Ventures since 2016. Prior to joining 5AM Ventures, Mr. Victor served as CEO of Startide Sciences, a 5AM Ventures portfolio company chartered to identify and develop innovative technologies in the Life Sciences research tools markets. Prior to Startide, Mr. Victor served as CEO of DVS Sciences (acquired by Fluidigm Inc.), and Applied Precision Inc (acquired by GE Healthcare). He currently serves as Executive Chairman on the board of Purigen Biosystems as well as on the Boards of RareCyte, Precision Nanosystems, Magnetic Insight, and Glencoe Software. Mr. Victor also serves as an advisory board member to the Harvard Program in Therapeutic Science and the UC Davis Ecosystem for Biophotonics Innovation. Mr. Victor has also held various executive management and technical positions in the high technology, aviation, and energy markets. Mr. Victor holds an MBA from UCLA and MS and BS degrees in engineering from the University of Washington.
