Frontiers in Pediatric Research Lecture featuring Dr. Christopher Forrest
Dr. Christopher Forrest’s presentation, “Advancing a National Learning Health System for Children and Youth: Pediatrics, PEDSnet and Patient-Reported Data,” at 3:30 p.m. in Building Cure’s McKinstry Auditorium, followed by a panel discussion and reception. Dr. Forrest, a pediatrician and health services and outcomes researcher, is the director of PEDSnet and of the Center for Applied Research at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He will share how the work of PEDSnet — a national, multi-specialty network that conducts observational research and clinical trials across pediatric health systems, including Seattle Children’s — is advancing the learning health system model for children and adolescents. Patients and families, and the data they care about, are at the heart of this new form of collaboration. He believes pediatrics has the potential to lead the nation into a new social contract for healthcare, emphasizing continuous improvement of thriving (health, well-being, and resilience), co-production of outcomes and rapid learning.
