Startup A-Alpha Bio Sets Out To Solve A Major Protein Problem Facing Big Pharma

A-Alpha Bio, a Seattle-based startup raised $20M in a Series A funding round to continue studying which proteins bind with each other.

Moving forward the company plans to grow its employee count to expand its machine learning and data science team, using machine-learning techniques to understand how proteins interact.

“Over time, we will accumulate the largest repository of protein interactions…As we build that database, we can use tools like machine learning to start to make engineering protein interactions a computational problem rather than an experimental one, “said David Younger, co-founder and CEO of A-Alpha Bio.
