The University of Washington School of Medicine is receiving a grant for up to $5.3 million from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The award will contribute to the growth of the Seattle Tuberculosis Research Advancement Center over a five-year period.

UW Medicine is the leader in federal research funding in Washington with over $500 million in 2021 alone.

“We are centered at UW but have opened the doors to literally everyone in the city who wants to join the effort,” said Dr. Chetan Seshadri, associate professor at UW Medicine. “I don’t know that there’s any other place in the world that has the breadth and depth of TB-related research that Seattle has.”
