University of Washington is No. 6 in the World, According to US News Best Global Universities

According to a new report on the U.S. News & World’s Best Global Universities rankings, the University of Washington (UW) is the 6th best university in the world. The college is also ranked 2nd among all U.S. public institutions.

The rankings include over 2,000 universities across 90 countries and analyze factors such as publications, citations and international collaboration.

UW subjects also placed in the top 25 by Times Higher Education World University Rankings with life sciences at 16th, clinical and health at 15th and physical sciences at 19th.

“As a global public research university, the UW’s mission is to create and accelerate change for the public good,” said UW President Ana Mari Cauce. “I’m proud that these rankings reflect the outstanding and wide-ranging work of our faculty, staff and students to expand knowledge and discovery that is changing people’s lives for the better, particularly in the health sciences.”
