CBRE’s 2023 Scoring Tech Talent report declared Seattle as the second-best tech market in North America despite the industry’s ongoing layoffs.
Seattle also ranked second in average annual wage and in the percentage of software engineers working in tech ($172,009 and 76.4% respectively). The city also saw 28.6% growth of its tech workforce from 2017 to 2022.
“Seattle continues to be a top-tier hub for innovation, and we don’t foresee that changing anytime soon due to the incredible depth of talent in the area,” CBRE’s Seattle executive vice president Matt Walters said.
