Seattle-based health tech startup, and Allen Institute for AI spinout, PreemptiveAI raised $6.4M in funding and announced a partnership with Duke University to test its predictive healthcare technology. The platform analyzes biomedical signals from wearables to provide real-time diagnoses, such as predicting heart attacks or detecting undiagnosed cancer. The startup aims to revolutionize healthcare delivery for providers, pharmaceutical companies, and payers.

“PreemptiveAI represents a monumental leap forward in our pursuit of transformative healthcare. Their technology is the catalyst we’ve needed to shift paradigms,” said Lana Wahid, medical director of Duke’s early-phase research unit. Founded as a spinout of Seattle’s Allen Institute for AI, PreemptiveAI plans further commercial launches in 2024.
