Seattle’s Economic Strength Helps Propel it to Number 6 in New Ranking of Top 1,000 Global Cities

According to the first-ever “Global Cities Index” report from Oxford Economics, Seattle ranks No. 6 out of 1,000 of the world’s largest cities.

The ranking is based on five key factors including economics, quality of life, environment, governance, and human capital. Seattle ranked No. 4 in economics, No. 56 for quality of life, No. 40 for environment, and No. 184 for governance.

The report notes Seattle has “one of the highest GDP per person levels in the index, and a healthy economic stability measure.”
