Seattle Ranks No. 3 Among Fierce Biotech’s 2026 Top Emerging Biotech Hubs

Last week, Fierce Biotech released its annual list of the top emerging biotech hubs in 2026, ranking Seattle as No. 3 globally. The ranking highlights the region’s continued growth as a center for life sciences innovation and reflects Seattle’s expanding biotech ecosystem and growing convergence of life sciences and AI.  

The region’s recognition is supported by a strong talent base of 31,000 life sciences professionals and 17,000 R&D employees, along with continued venture investment, expanding lab space that fuel the growth of companies like Variant Bio, Shape Therapeutics, and Curevo.  

As AI becomes an increasingly integral part of biotech, the ranking reinforces Seattle’s growing role as a global hub for life sciences innovation.
