Gates Foundation Gives $540M to UW Health Institute, The Largest Gift in University History

The Gates Foundation broke its own record at the University of Washington with the largest charitable gift in university history: $540.2M for the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). The commitment will fund a 10-year expansion of IHME’s Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study and support the institute’s health forecasting and its tracking of health spending worldwide.
