UW Protein Institute Lands Giant AI Cloud Grant from Nvidia CEO’s Foundation

The UW Medicine Institute for Protein Design (IPD), led by Nobel laureate David Baker, has received a major computing grant totaling nearly 7M GPU hours from the Jen-Hsun and Lori Huang Foundation. Co-founded by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and his wife, Lori, the foundation’s grant will accelerate IPD’s development of open-source AI models for protein design.
