As ACS CAN’s flagship event, the Annual Research and Policy Breakfast brings together experts in policy, research, patient care, and advocacy to explore groundbreaking cancer research happening in our state and the policy issues affecting patients and their families.
This year’s program will kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month and feature two internationally recognized leaders in breast cancer research:
- Dr. Nancy Davidson, Executive Vice President and Chief Academic Officer at Fred Hutch Cancer Center
- Dr. Mary-Claire King, American Cancer Society Professor at the University of Washington and the pioneering geneticist who first demonstrated that breast cancer can be inherited and identified the location of the BRCA1 gene
They will be joined by leaders in cancer research, patient care, advocacy, and public policy for a timely conversation about expanding access to care, advancing personalized treatment through biomarker testing, protecting critical research funding, and ensuring everyone has a fair chance to prevent, detect, treat, and survive breast cancer.
