Dozie leads Oncology External Innovation activities for Johnson & Johnson in West North America, driving strategic partnerships, technical due diligences, and championing equity investments to advance the Oncology portfolio. He has spearheaded collaborations and numerous evaluations, helped shape transformative research and development initiatives in Oncology and beyond.
Previously, Dozie headed Johnson & Johnson Innovation JLABS in Canada, supporting over 100 life science start-ups at one of the country’s largest life science incubators. His leadership spans internal and external ecosystems, complemented by advisory roles with the University of Michigan’s MTRAC program, Creative Destruction Labs and National Cancer Institute Investor Initiatives. He serves on the boards of the Society of Toxicology and other non-profit life science organizations and has advised governments in Canada and Nigeria on Science and Innovation. He is often invited to speak at innovation forums. As a pharmaceutical scientist, Dozie has also contributed to the discovery and development of multiple Oncology products, including Tecvayli, Talvey, Rybrevant and others.
He has also authored or co-authored 10 book chapters, 24 peer-reviewed articles and numerous meeting abstracts. Dozie holds a dual Ph.D. in Comparative Medicine and Integrative Toxicological Sciences from Michigan State University, where he also completed a Veterinary Pathology residency. He earned his D.V.M. from the University of Nigeria and is board-certified in both Toxicology and Veterinary Pathology
